Accra, Ghana – May 6, 2025 – True to their promise, the celebrated Sabelor Cultural Group has officially begun their much-anticipated 2025 world tour, departing from Accra today for their first international stop—Indonesia. The tour, which was announced last year, will span multiple countries, including performances in the United States and other locations across the globe.
The 13-member ensemble, made up of seasoned musicians, singers, and dancers, is widely known for their captivating performances rooted in Ghanaian tradition, blending drumming, dancing, and singing into unforgettable cultural showcases.
Speaking ahead of the Indonesia performance, lead dancer Francisca Agyapong shared:
“Together with my fellow dancers Paula Ankomah, Alberta Opoku Fofie, and Linda Asiamah, we’ll be presenting choreographed routines of Adowa, Kpanlogo, and Borborbor—traditional Ghanaian dances that reflect our rich heritage.”
The group’s vocal harmonies will be delivered by frontline singers Linda Oduro, Evelyn Anokye, and Irene Tetebea, who plan to perform a selection of traditional folk songs that capture the essence of Ghanaian storytelling through music.
Supporting them are the group’s skilled male instrumentalists: Hayford Krampah, Obadiah Asare, Anthony Arthur, Michael Agbojan, and Eric Tetteh, who will accompany the performance using a variety of traditional Ghanaian instruments such as the Conga, Atumpan, Maracas, Djembe, and Gome.
Formed in 2015, Sabelor Cultural Group has become a pillar in preserving and promoting Ghanaian cultural music, both locally and now increasingly on the global stage.
Their upcoming performance in Indonesia marks the beginning of a journey to share the heartbeat of Ghanaian culture with the world—through rhythm, melody, and movement that transcend borders.
